APS provides Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) Training and Screening Test Technician (STT) Training utilizing a variety of alcohol testing devices. Screening Test Technicians

STTs may only conduct the initial alcohol screening test utilizing an approved Alcohol Screening Device (ASD). If the initial screening test is positive, a BAT must conduct the confirmation test. Breath Alcohol Technicians

BATs may conduct both screening and confirmation alcohol tests using an approved Evidential Breath Testing Device (EBT). The DOT requires that all BATs complete Qualification Training and Proficiency Demonstrations.  APS provides an online BAT Course as well as Device Training and the monitoring of Proficiency Demonstrations on most approved devices.  APS additionally provides Calibration Technician Training on select devices.  Click here for APS BAT Training Options.
